Introduction
This article explains how to permanently disable an account across all systems for Willetts Support. This includes email, security groups, and active directories. Use this process when an account must be fully removed from access and no longer used.
Before you begin
Before disabling an account, confirm that you have the required approval and that any important data, access, or ownership has been transferred as needed.
- Administrator access to the relevant systems
- Approval from the appropriate manager or system owner
- The user account details you need to disable
- Any required offboarding or retention instructions
Step-by-step instructions
Confirm the account to be disabled and verify the request details.
Disable the user’s email account.
Remove the user from all security groups and shared access groups.
Disable or remove the account from active directory or identity management systems.
Confirm that all access has been removed across connected systems.
Document the completion of the disablement request.
What happens after the account is disabled
Once completed, the account is permanently disabled across all systems, including email, security groups, and active directories. The user will no longer be able to sign in or access connected services.
